Hi Romeo,

I was chatting with Nancy McCoy this morning, asking her how things were going. This is the first thing she said to me:

“Things seem to be going a lot better. I do want to let you know that Romeo Fallesgon has turned out to be a great communicator with invoices. We have developed a very good working relationship and I think he has the best understanding of all the exceptions people that I have worked with. Please pass on to Romeo’s boss what a good job he is doing. He is very helpful.”

Nancy has not always been complimentary of ACS, so I consider this to be a HUGE credit to you and your hard work Romeo. Great job!!! Keep up the good work!

Few months back, a number of SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and a Business Analyst came here in Manila to train us. First, Rachael Cranney (BA). Next, the SMEs, Carolyn Ross, Elizabeth Brooks, Heather Steidle Nemetz, and Iris Ruisanchez. Then, came Katrena Evans and now they are all back in the US.

I came from a call center industry so I’m used to talking to irate Americans and thought of what’s gonna happen if I would have to work with anyone of them. Little did I know, I was already working with them.

I am very happy, deep in my heart, to have met all these people, to think that was my first time to ever encounter Americans in person to the extent that we would talk anything under the sun (not just work-related topics).

It’s sad to think that our trainers will soon end their jobs and exit the company but as much as we hope for them to be retained (our fingers crossed), we’re hands off to that. I am sure though that these people will go places. There is only one in a million chance to meet all of them or either one of them again because they are situated halfway around the globe… but if that happens, haha, nobody knows if that’s gonna happen.

Thank you guys for all the knowledge you have imparted and rest assured that we will continue all your hardworks as best as we can. I miss ya’ll.

This may be a late entry about my current work but it’s okay. Finally, I have gone out of the shadow of call centers and have ventured to the world of BPOs and planning to enter my luck in shared services in the future because of the tempting things I heard in the latter industry.
Now that I have penetrated the world of Accounting (after graduation last year), I can say that it’s not that easy. It’s a one big tough field. Accounting does not just involve numbers, predominantly it is your analysis that it tests. The way you understand and resolve the problem. Accounting problems, bring it on… But the real factor that’s really striking are the tools and processes. We have loads of tools and systems that we use in keying the information, matching, check cutting, etc. and they are not easy to understand. Your comprehension will be challenged. For some people, it takes only days; to others, weeks; and for a few, months of practice to master the tools depending on the severity of work and/or segment.

I may be just a novice for now but I promise that I’ll hone myself in this field and augment whatever knowledge I may acquire.

KYLE XY: Why do people celebrate birthdays if it means another year being close to death?

Come on! Don’t spoil my celebration… LOL!

Mah birthday, yet I am jobless but this did not prevent me to celebrate. We went to Metrowalk (Ortigas) to have some eating, drinking, and fun. I was with my ACS Barkada, though we weren’t complete, it was all okay.

After some picture taking in the center of Metrowalk, we headed to Mugen, an RnB bar per porang. There, we enjoyed most. Beers, bands, dancing, singing, and again picture taking. The Musika band rocked the house! From Tick Tock to Patron Tequila and other rnb songs which will surely make you hot (o’course you’re sweating when you’re dancing and all, right?)

One of the employees was so accomodating and even gave us a big discount for all the beers we consumed. Kudos! So there, next, we went to Starbucks to have some coffee. I don’t know with my former officemates why they ordered Fraps after taking tons of alcohol. Anyhow, it was an all out fun birthday celebration which I’d for sure remember so long as I have neurons unannihilated by alien vitamins. LOL!

This Isn’t Really Goodbye After All

More than 2 years it had been that I stayed with this company. I thought of it before as an excellent one. Next thing you know, it’s not, and that deserves another entry but I won’t do that. I can say that if it was not for ACS, I would have not graduated from college; I would have not learnt a lot of medical things; I would have not experienced the things in call center world i.e. high salary way way above minimum, incentives, night differentials, irate callers, avaya, twang, starbucks, Lipa training, commendations, yawning, being a floor support, flexibility, multi-tasking, incident reports, notices to explain, dismissal (but o’course it didn’t happen haha), team building, getaway, politics, backstabbing, intrigues, trackers, daylight saving time, american culture, etc.; I would have not met my teammates and colleagues who will forever be a part of me wherever I go.

ACS has made me more matured and independent. It honed me to become a better person. It molded me to be stronger and to fight what I know is right. It has somehow prepared me to face all the challenges that I may encounter in the battlefield of life. Thank you ACS. Farewell…

Isang buwan… Yan ang taning na ibibigay ko pa sa kasalukuyan kong trabaho. Pero it’s one month or less. Mas maganda kung hindi aabutin ng isang buwan. It already reached my saturation point.

Time to take some risks and be happy than take more money and feel like dying gradually (Kuya Wil, eto ang motto ko ngaun!)…
